Welcome to ITAK – Introduction
Founded in 2008 by Chemistry professionals, ITAK – Instituto de Tecnologia August Kekulé Ltda – initially focused on fulfilling a market need in technical consultancy and the manufacturing and supply of geochemical matrix reference materials. The high level of quality in its products and services led to widespread acceptance and market expansion, with significant activities today in geology, mining, metallurgy, and quality control in chemical and laboratory analyses.
Over the years, the company’s management has always sought the best market practices and technological solutions to offer highly reliable products and services. Globalization and global technological development significantly support this pursuit, as the world is in continuous innovation, requiring ever more specific, reliable, immediate, and economically viable products and services.
The growing demand for improvements in chemical analysis processes and quality control has driven the preparation of Certified Reference Materials (CRMs), with ITAK having produced and sold over 500 CRMs from various mineral matrices with worldwide acceptance and high reliability, serving clients in more than 60 countries with products and/or services.
ITAK is headquartered in João Monlevade, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and offers its structure for supplying products and services within its competence.

Infrastructure
In pursuit of high productivity in CRM manufacturing without sacrificing quality, ITAK built a purpose-suited factory with modern equipment and intelligent infrastructure. This setup enables custom CRM preparation and service provision within timelines perfectly aligned with client needs.
The establishment of an in-house chemical laboratory in 2015 and the automation of the CRM packaging stage in 2019 significantly contributed to reducing CRM preparation times, distinguishing ITAK in this productive sector.

Integrated Management System
ITAK operates with globally referenced standards and market tools aligned to the Integrated Management System:
- NBR ISO 9001 – Quality management systems – Requirements (Certified since March 2017)
- NBR ISO/IEC 17043 – Conformity assessment – General requirements for proficiency testing (Accredited since December 2019)
- ISO/IEC 17034 – General requirements for the competence of reference material producers (IMS compliant with this standard).
- ISO/IEC 17025 – General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories (IMS compliant with this standard)
